WEST MARLBOROUGH: A sighting of a rare deer

Two West Marlborough residents spotted a six-point buck and a four-point piebald deer near their home on Saturday afternoon and were kind enough to share this photograph. One of them did some research on the Pennsylvania Game Commission website and learned that piebalds represent less than 1% of the white-tail deer population.

This piebald white-tailed deer is a sight to behold.

  1. There are many in the neighborhood who have quietly spoken of this buck for a few years. We had collectively hoped that nothing public would be written about him to avoid trophy hunting in the area. He is a sight to behold.

  2. Thank you! That hadn't occurred to me. I have taken out the location.

  3. Thank YOU! He is a magical sight. It was hard to believe that he wasn't a dog a first but I've never heard of a breed of dog with antlers!!
