A loyal and observant reader shared this curious story after a visit to the CVS on Route 1 at Bayard Road. It seems that for the past year, on the first day of every month, an older couple comes into the drugstore and sorts through all of the
candy, gum, nutritional bars, and so forth, looking for expired items.
"Seems CVS policy
pays people cash money for any item that is past its expiration date. . . . They
don't appear homeless, just looking to cash in. On Easter Sunday, after
spending about an hour at the store, they left with a wad of cash."
